NOM-029- ENER-2017

Energy Efficiency of External Power Supplies. Limits, Test Methods, Marking and Labeling.

Applies to external power supplies (EPS), establishes the minimum values of energy efficiency in operation, the maximum limits of electrical power in no-load or empty mode, which are imported, manufactured, marketed, distributed or supplied for promotional purposes in national territory.

They are classified according to:

  • USB output voltage: Rated output voltage (DC) of 5.0V ± 0.25V, with a rated output current greater than or equal to 500.0mA DC.
  • Low output voltage: Rated output voltage is less than 6.0V DC, with a tolerance of ± 5.0%, with a rated output current greater than or equal to 550.0mA DC.
  • Generic output voltage: Rated output voltage greater than or equal to 6.0V DC with a maximum output power less than or equal to 250.0W.
